Johnny O Quigleys
A sports bar with an Irish theme

Johnny O Quigleys is an Irish Sports Bar located in the Paradise Isle shopping center. It was a hot Friday in June and we were running some shopping errands when we decided to stop in Johnny O' Quigley's for a quick lunch. We were in a hurry because we needed to complete our errands and return home for a late afternoon baseball practice.

The interior is decorated in "modern sports bar" with all the customary college team flags hanging from the ceiling, with additional banners, posters and signs from sports team of all flavors.

We noted that their seating was sturdy, upscale and thoughtfully laid out so that they could accommodate small intimate groups as well as large party groups. It was very easy to imagine having a party there. We were seated at a "high table" near the bar almost immediately upon entering the establishment. It was less busy than I would normally expect, for which I was thankful.

Johnny O Quigleys had an impressive array of TV's, including many that were clearly in HD. I could see more than half of their reported 48 TVs from our table, and there were very few duplications of programming on. I could see fishing, horse racing, baseball, water skiing tournaments, soccer and much, much more. Truly, the largest selection of programming I have ever seen.

The server was quick to get our drink order while we studied the menu in detail. We did not order any appetizers as we were in a hurry. After a few moments, I ordered the "Chicken 'n Chips", Debbie ordered the Friday special of "Fish 'n Chips" and Johnny had the kids chicken tenders meal.

22 minutes later, our server delivered our lunch. It was served hot and fresh on square plates which appear to be the current rage. Unfortunately, the food was very "average" in our opinion. We are going to try them again, as I saw several other dinners that were being delivered to other patrons that looked really, really good.

Johnny was excited because his meal was served in a "flying disc" (generic frisbee), so once we cleaned the catsup off of it, he had a new toy to play with.
